Physiotherapy-led Modified Pilates

Exercise can be crucial to your recovery and Victoria Furnell also runs physiotherapy-led modified pilates to support this.

Pilates was developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. The Pilates method is essentially a mind-body centring technique that emphasises the importance of beginning movement from a central core of stability, namely the lumbo-pelvic region.

Physiotherapy-led modified Pilates consists of mat work exercises concentrating on strength, mobility and stretching to condition the entire body. Sometimes with the use of small pieces of equipment.

Physiotherapy is quickly proving the importance of a balance aligned body and much effort is aimed at correcting muscle imbalance.

Pilates is beneficial for almost everyone, any age, regardless of fitness.
